I love this Uke. It’s my current go-to uke out of 4 of them. Nice wide fret board for big hands like mine. It comes with a gig bag, tuner and more. I could do without the words around the sound hole that says “It’s hard to be normal. I’m a ukulele player” It’s silly and keeps me from wanting to show this uke to my friends and peers. But for 39.99 it’s a great bargain.

I really love this concert ukulele! The extra (minimal) spacing between strings helps this fat fingered novice hit chords without deadening adjoining strings…
Pros:
– The nut is 38mm wide with a bit over 10mm spacing between strings.
– Fret ends are surprisingly smooth for an inexpensive instrument.
– Action height is great: 0.5mm at the first fret and 2.55mm at the twelfth fret. It is very playable with no noticeable buzz…
– Intonation is really close. The addition of a compensated bridge might have addressed this.
– The build overall is very nice: joinery is clean, there is nice banding on the body and it has a smooth open pore matt finish.
– The instrument comes with a substantial padded gig bag and accessories.
Cons:
– The ukulele ships with Aquila Super Nylgut strings. On this arch backed sapele (…think mahogany…) instrument they produce a muted, dead sound. However…I replaced these with a set of Martin fluorocarbon strings which really brought the uke to life! It now has a clear, open, resonant voice that is wonderful to hear. I assume the extra power of these strings is needed to drive the sapele/arch backed design of the body and let the sound ring out.
– The “novelty” soundhole rosette detracts from the overall esthetics of this package. At a distance, it looks like a standard laser etched design. Up close, it’s awkward to see a comment on ukulele players etched into the face of the instrument. This doesn’t affect the playability…
As noted previously, I love this ukulele. It’s easy to play, has a wide neck, has good build quality and comes with nice accessories. It is a good buy and has great sound potential. If it also included fluorocarbon strings and a more standard soundhole rosette, it would be a great buy and could become the “go to” entry level wide neck concert ukulele on the market.
