I am a 63-year-old, newly retired, and have also recently taken up the bass guitar.
Looking for another instrument to try and the ukulele seemed like it might be fun. Easy and compact enough to take to parties and have some fun with.
I am also left handed. As lefties, we are well aware of the challenges faced with playing stringed instruments. It is the same when purchasing. A quick search on Amazon shows only a few selections for left hand ukuleles. I also wanted an entry level model in case the “uke” was not for me.
After a little internet research, I narrowed my choice. I had a few questions and after looking at the Ranch website sent off an email. The response was swift. The also emailed me some additional information on “ukes” in general.
Based on Ranch’s quick response I decided that Ranch would be my choice.
The package arrived quickly from Amazon, well packed, a Ukulele box, in a shipping box.
First, the case looked good, well padded with an outside pocket and double zippers. The Ukulele looked great, and seems well made, no noticeable faults in what seems to be a one-piece top and sides. I can see a seam in the back, but the finish is fine.
Aquila strings are attached, but they are upgraded Super Nylgut, and after day three seem to be settling in. But even out of the box they held better than expected. Based on my research I will change them out with D’addario Fluorocarbons. This is only the “uke”, not a kit. You WILL need a tuner.
I am a total newbie on the ukulele, but to me this was a great choice. The sound is great, the built quality seems great as well. I have nothing to compare it to, but at this price point I received more than I expected.

Aloha Rachelle,
Thank you for choosing Ranch ^_^
I am so sorry for any inconvenience caused first.
For the frets, when we ship the ukuleles to Amazon, our QC will check EVERY details of the uke to make sure there are no flaws on it. Of course the fret edges are very smooth at that time. But due to the natural properties of wood’s thermal expansion and contraction, the uke’s frets may have some bow in cold/dry situations. But It’s very soft and easy to fix, just use the nail file to smooth\polish it.
We always stand behind our products, any further issues please let us know~
Cheer up,
Yours Ranch
